water run-off reduction

Wild®
greenroof structures & planter systems

Extensive greenroofs such as those used on our Wild structures have been found to reduce water run-off by up to 90%, depending on season and the prevailing ambient temperatures. The plants and soil retain a significant proportion of the rainwater, much of which is then released back into the atmosphere gradually through evapotranspiration.

Peak flow from the greenroof during storm conditions is also greatly reduced as the rainwater filters slowly through the growing media and filter layers, mitigating the pressure on local surface water drainage systems.

All Wild greenroof and planter systems can be installed with one of our rainwater harvesting packages, which will retrieve the excess water that is not required by the greenroof and store this valuable resource it until such time as it is required for specific irrigation purposes.
